Hypnotherapy with Elena Mosaner
I have been practicing hypnotherapy for over 20 years, helping clients change habits, build confidence, improve performance, and overcome fears and limiting patterns.
Throughout our lives we are constantly shaped by experiences, family dynamics, culture, education, and the environments we move through. Many of these influences become automatic mental patterns that guide our decisions and reactions without us fully noticing them.
Hypnosis provides a structured way to examine and reshape those patterns. In a state of focused attention and deep relaxation, the mind becomes more receptive to learning, visualization, and intentional behavioral change. This allows clients to replace unhelpful habits and beliefs with new patterns that better support their goals.
My work combines hypnosis with strategic inquiry and practical tools so that clients can actively participate in designing the change they want to create.
I began my practice in New York City, where my office was located on the Upper East Side. Today I work with clients primarily online via Zoom, as well as in person in New York City and Rome depending on my travel schedule.
Whether sessions take place online or in person, the process and results are the same.

FAQ
How does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention combined with deep mental relaxation. In this state the mind becomes more receptive to learning, mental rehearsal, and behavioral change.
Rather than being mystical, hypnosis can be understood as a structured process that uses several well-known psychological mechanisms:
• focused attention
• relaxation and nervous system regulation
• visualization and mental rehearsal
• repetition of new ideas and beliefs
• deliberate self-instruction
During hypnosis sessions we design a specific mental script aligned with your goals, such as overcoming a habit, improving confidence, or regulating stress.
While in hypnosis you practice this new mental pattern through visualization and suggestion. This helps the brain begin to associate situations that previously triggered stress or unhealthy habits with calmer, more constructive responses.
Each session is recorded so you can continue reinforcing the process between sessions.
What is hypnosis used for?
Hypnosis is widely used as a tool for behavioral change, habit formation, and performance improvement.
Clients often use hypnosis for areas such as:
• Hypnosis for Public Speaking and Social Confidence
• Hypnosis for Smoking and Vaping Cessation
• Hypnosis for Stage Performers (actors, singers, musicians, auditions)
• Hypnosis for Breaking Bad Habits (nail biting, skin picking, hair pulling)
• Hypnosis for Fears and Phobias (including fear of flying)
• Hypnosis for Mind-Body Conditions
• Hypnosis for Sexual Confidence and Love & Relationship Challenges
• Hypnosis for Narcissistic Abuse Recovery and Emotional Empowerment
• Hypnosis for Weight Management
In many cases hypnosis helps by changing the automatic mental patterns that influence behavior.
What happens during a hypnosis session?
A typical session lasts about one hour.
The first portion of the session focuses on clarifying your goal and designing a new mental strategy for the change you want to make.
The hypnosis portion of the session usually lasts about 20 minutes and includes:
• guided relaxation
• focused breathing
• visualization of the desired outcome
• structured suggestions aligned with your goals
Your personalized hypnosis session is recorded and sent to you as an audio track so you can listen to it over the following weeks to reinforce the change.
You will also learn simple self-hypnosis techniques that help you regulate your state of mind when needed.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Most people can experience hypnosis if they are willing to follow the instructions and participate in the process.
Hypnosis does not require a special personality or unusual abilities. It is similar to states people naturally experience during activities such as deep concentration, meditation, or daydreaming.
The key factor is cooperation and willingness to engage with the process.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No.
During hypnosis you remain aware of your surroundings and able to think, speak, and move if you choose.
Hypnosis is not mind control. It is a cooperative process in which you actively participate in creating new mental patterns.
You cannot be made to do something that strongly conflicts with your values or intentions.
How many hypnosis sessions are usually needed?
The number of sessions depends on the issue and the goals you are working on.
For many focused issues such as fears or habits, two sessions are often recommended to establish the new mental pattern.
Some issues may require additional reinforcement sessions.
Examples:
• smoking cessation: often one focused session
• fears or habits: typically two sessions
• weight management or alcohol reduction: two to five sessions
All sessions are recorded so you can continue reinforcing the process afterward.
Is hypnosis evidence-based?
Hypnosis has been studied for more than a century and is used in many fields including psychology, medicine, and performance coaching.
Research suggests hypnosis can be useful in areas such as:
• pain management
• habit change
• anxiety and stress regulation
• performance improvement
In my work, hypnosis is used as a structured mental training method, combined with strategic inquiry and practical behavior change techniques.
Can hypnosis work online?
Yes.
Hypnosis sessions can be conducted very effectively over Zoom because the hypnosis portion of the session involves closing your eyes and focusing internally.
Many clients find online sessions just as effective as in-person sessions.
Where are sessions available and what are the fees?
Sessions are available online via Zoom, as well as in person in Rome and New York City, depending on my travel schedule.
Fee: $475 per hour.
