What A-Listers Want from Hypnotherapy: A Celebrity Hypnotist Elena Mosaner’s Insights and Lessons.

Over the past two decades I’ve guided high-profile clients – from Oscar-winning actors and renowned producers to founders of household-name apps, close advisers to presidents, and even the children of famous pop artists – through the same inner challenges as everyone else: stage fright, public-speaking nerves, performance confidence, stress and sleep problems, and common habits such as nail-biting or skin-picking.

Why High-Profile Clients Seek Hypnosis

People often imagine celebrities or billionaires to be very different. In the therapy chair, they’re not. The issues are human — the stakes simply feel higher, especially when they involve their career or performance.

Here are a few examples from my practice (shared without names to protect privacy):

  • A child of a famous pop star who struggled with chronic insomnia.

  • Two children of well-known TV producer of a major TV program who came for help with nail-biting and skin-picking.

  • An Oscar-winning actress who developed stage fright after years away from the spotlight and felt self-conscious about returning as an older performer.

  • A close adviser to a president who came for help healing from a painful breakup.

  • A billionaire tech founder who wanted the confidence and motivation to launch a new company with fewer investors

  • A UFC fighter who needed to overcome self-limiting beliefs and build unshakable focus before an important fight.

  • A Broadway performer returning to the stage after a serious injury who needed to rebuild physical confidence and trust in her own body.

  • A real-estate mogul who sought hypnosis to help ease stress-related digestive issues.

  • An Oscar-nominated actor known for an environmental film came for help with smoking cessation and a fear of flying.

These stories show that, regardless of fame or resources, people often seek the same things: confidence, resilience, relief from stress, and freedom from habits that get in their way

How They Find Me

There are many hypnotherapists in the United States and in major cities.
So why do high-profile clients come to me?

My Wikipedia page, with mentions of my film work, published book, and the fact that I’m the founder of two hypnosis apps, helps establish credibility for people in the public eye.
These are real, verifiable credentials:
– the documentary I made, produced by actor Vincent D’Onofrio
– the science-fiction book I co-wrote with noted author John Zakour
– the press mentions of my work in the New York Times, New York Post, Well + Good, New York Magazine, and ABC’s Good Morning America
– and two wellness apps, which have already reached thousands of downloads and continue to grow.

High-profile clients often come by referral.I estimate that about half of my celebrity and high-level clientele are referred by a trusted physician or by another client who had success and personally vouched for me.

The rest find me online — through Google search, strong reviews for my 20-year New York City practice Inside Hypnosis, media coverage, and sometimes even by asking ChatGPT. Some first try my apps, find them helpful, and later reach out for private sessions.

There is no magic behind it — just me doing my best work and being visible in an honest, professional way.
People are people. But celebrities and A-listers have one special need: they must be able to trust the professional they work with. They look for privacy and for someone who will see them as an equal, not as a public persona.

I remember my first celebrity client over a decade ago — the daughter of one of the world’s most famous pop stars.
I was referred by a friend who was an acupuncturist; his colleague, a massage therapist, was looking for a hypnotherapist for this young client. The massage therapist called me first and asked many careful questions. Satisfied with my answers, they passed my number to the client’s manager, who also spoke with me at length before finally booking the session.

I took the name down, which sounded vaguely familiar, but I didn’t look it up. When the client arrived at my office, I immediately recognized who she was. I stayed calm and completely professional, never mentioning her famous parent.

From that day forward, I have treated all high-profile clients the same way: with respect, discretion, and professionalism. And perhaps it’s some mysterious pattern in the universe, but they seem to find me — and I’m often pleasantly surprised by who reaches out next.

A Quiet, Structured Approach: What Makes My Work Different and Trustworthy

Some people believe hypnosis is mystical or unexplainable — and for some, that belief alone can create powerful, almost placebo-like effects. I take the opposite approach: I demystify hypnosis so my clients can understand the actual structure behind it, without fluff or mystery, and rely on its evidence-based, practical foundation.

That doesn’t mean I reject spirituality or a sense of higher purpose. I do believe in that. But when it comes to the connection between mind and body, the core processes are remarkably straightforward and don’t require supernatural abilities or explanations. This clarity makes the work simpler, more effective, and more sustainable in the long term.

I see hypnosis as a structured method of focused attention and self-instruction — much like the way athletes use mental rehearsal or how effective advertising captures focus and primes the mind. My goal is to help clients enter a focused state through a well-crafted induction, then guide them with a strategically designed script — almost algorithmic in its phrasing — followed by guided visualization that strengthens their belief, motivation, and ability to act.

I teach my clients self-hypnosis tools and provide them with an audio recording of their session for ongoing reinforcement.

My 20 years of clinical experience, ICF-certified coaching background, two science degrees, and my storyteller’s ability to craft the right words for the subconscious form a unique combination. Added to that is my deep intuition: I’m able to see the client clearly, ask the right questions, and get to the core of the issue more quickly — making the work a rapid, results-oriented intervention.

A Final Word on Privacy and Trust

Because I work with public figures, privacy is non-negotiable. I never share names or details that could identify a client. That confidentiality — together with a structured, respectful approach — is one of the main reasons well-known people trust me. It is in both their best interest and in my own professional reputation to keep their identities private. Some clients are comfortable being open about working with me, but most prefer to keep it private, and I respect that completely.

You don’t need to be famous to work with me. As I often say, people are people. The issues are similar — the stakes may simply feel higher for those in the public eye. I treat every client the same way, whether you’re an A-lister or “not a lister.” When we work together, it’s about you and what you want to change or achieve.
